Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens
Possible Trade Fair Threat

The US Embassy in Baghdad has received credible information regarding the threat of possible attacks at the Baghdad International Trade Fair. The Trade Fair is taking place at the Iraqi Trade Information Center in the Al Mansour district of Baghdad through November 10, 2011. U.S. Citizens are advised to take extra precautions in this general area and to avoid it if possible.
U.S. citizens traveling and residing abroad should enroll in the Smart Travelers Enrollment Program (STEP). U.S. citizens without internet access may enroll directly at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate at their destination. By enrolling, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency.
