General Information About Special Immigrant Visas

Iraqis may be eligible for one of the two Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) programs.  There are different requirements for each SIV program.  Refugee processing is separate from SIV.  Prospective applicants should review each program to determine their eligibility.

NOTE: If you have an interview at the U.S. Embassy Consular Section for an Iraqi translator/interpreter SIV, please note that visa fees of $400 per person must be paid at the time of your interview.
