Program Summary
The Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program for Iraq will place groups of three to five scholars at academic institutions that maintain strong faculty development or professional programs in one or more of several areas:

Applied Linguistics/English as a Second Language (ESL)

Business Administration/Management

Education
-
Public Health
-
Science, Technology, and Engineering
The program will offer the selected Iraqi scholars the opportunity for close collaboration with, and mentoring by, U.S. faculty colleagues who have strong expertise in areas relevant to building capacity of Iraqi universities and scholarly communities. U.S. host institutions will provide access to libraries, laboratories and faculty as well as instruction, consultation and opportunities for observation of professionals in each scholar's field. Institutions will have recognized expertise in curriculum development, scholarship of teaching, service learning, collaborative undergraduate research, the use of technology, development and management of libraries and methods of research, instruction and student engagement. Scholars will be fully funded (travel, maintenance allowance, medical insurance)
Participant Profile
Scholars will be senior faculty in a department, including department chairs, deans or directors of constituent colleges of a university or mid- to high-level administrators of an institution. They will be highly motivated to engage with colleagues and others of their academic and professional fields in the United States.
