Joint Statement by Ambassador Christopher R. Hill and General Ray Odierno Condemning the Bombings in Mosul and Baghdad
The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and Multi-National Force-Iraq strongly condemn the bombings that have occurred in Mosul and Baghdad.
These attacks against innocent people are criminal acts of terrorism that show no respect for our common humanity. They serve no legitimate purpose and their sole intent is to incite division within Iraqi society. They will not deter the Iraqi people from striving to build a peaceful and prosperous Iraq.
We join the Iraqi people in denouncing all acts of terrorism and will continue to support the people and government of Iraq in combating all forms of violence. We mourn the senseless loss of life and extend our condolences to the victims' families, friends, and community.
