Ambassador Christopher R. Hill and General Ray Odierno Condemning Truck Bombing in Taza

The U.S. Embassy in Baghdad and Multi-National Force - Iraq strongly condemn the savage truck bombing yesterday near a mosque in Taza, south of Kirkuk. We mourn the loss of life and extend our condolences to the families of the victims and to the people of Iraq. Coalition Forces and the Embassy, through the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Kirkuk, have offered all possible assistance to the Iraqi government and local organizations in their relief efforts for the victims of this tragedy.
The murder of innocent civilians will only deepen the resolve of the people of Iraq to reject those who offer nothing but violence and hate. The United States continues to support the people and government of Iraq in their pursuit of peace, reconciliation, and democracy.
