Ambassador's Message on Death of Dr. Mazin Zwayne

It is with the deepest regret that I must announce the tragic loss on Thursday, March 27, 2008 of our colleague Dr. Mazin Zwayne, a U.S. civilian employee for the Department of Defense. Dr. Zwayne, who most recently worked at the Baghdad PRT as a bilingual/bicultural advisor, worked for DOD contractor Operational Support & Services (OSS). Previously a senior political and cultural advisor to the U.S. Army in Baghdad, Dr. Zwayne succumbed to injuries he sustained during one of the rocket attacks on Thursday, March 27.
Please join me in extending our deepest condolences to Dr. Zwayne’s family and friends and our profound appreciation for the ultimate sacrifice that he has made in service to his country and for the people of Iraq.
