Statement From U.S. Embassy Baghdad on Attacks Launched at International Zone

Multiple rounds of indirect fire were launched at the International Zone this afternoon.

The U.S. Embassy is currently aware of three fatalities: a U.S. military service member, an Iraqi citizen, and a third-country national of unknown nationality.

We are also aware of approximately 18 injured persons, among them five U.S. citizens: two service members, and three U.S. contract employees.
