Statement by Ambassador Ryan Crocker on the Karbala Bombings

The United States Government condemns yesterday's brutal attack in Karbala, which follows a similar attack on April 14. I want to offer my condolences to the families of those killed and wounded in the bombing, and to all Iraqi citizens.

The people of Iraq want security and peace for their families and their nation, and they have the right to live in security and peace. My government will continue to work closely with the Government and citizens of Iraq, and support them in moving forward towards the goals of national reconciliation and stability.
