2006 ambassador speeches The following is a joint statement by U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad and Multi-National Forces-Iraq (MNF-I) Commanding General George W. Casey, Jr. Baghdad, Iraq October 1, 2006

On September 29 Coalition Forces arrested an individual who was a member of Dr. Adnan Al Dulaimi’s security team. This arrest took place without incident and without the need to enter Dr. Al-Dulaimi’s home. Dr. Dulaimi cooperated with the Coalition Forces. The arrested individual had no ties to Dr. Al Dulaimi’s family, nor is Dr. Al Dulaimi connected in any way to the suspect activities of the individual who was arrested. We respect the leadership exercised by Dr. Al Dulaimi and look forward to working with him, and other Iraqi leaders to help Iraq succeed. # # #
