US ambassador sponsors English Language training to teachers and to students at Dhi Qar University, as a response to students' requests during a recent visit.

U.S. Embassy in Cooperation with PRT Holds an English Language Training Course in Nasiriyah

The U.S. reconstruction team PRT organized a training course for teachers and students of English language at Mutaika Hall in Dhi Qar.  Head of PRT Dr. Anna Prouse said that "The goal of this training course is to respond to the many requests submitted by students at the University of Dhi Qar to the U.S. Ambassador when visiting the province and meeting with them," adding that the course will last for five days as the morning session is scheduled for the teachers and the evening session for the students of English. Today, nearly twenty-five teachers have attended the course and it is hoped that the number will rise to thirty-five." Lisa McCauley, the specialized lecturer in the teaching of English language in the United States stressed that the opening of this training course came at the request of the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, noting that this course is designated to introduce new and more efficient teaching methodologies for teachers of English language.

U.S. Embassy Conducts English Training Course for Teachers and Students of Nasiriyah

The U.S. embassy in Iraq sponsored, in collaboration with PRT in Nasiriyah and Dhi Qar Directorate of Education, a training course for teachers of English language and a number of students in the province.  The training course, which came after U.S. Ambassador Chris Hill's meeting with students in colleges of teaching in Dhi Qar, will continue for seven days. Lisa McCauley, the trainer, told Summereon Net that "We will teach new and sophisticated techniques in teaching English to increase the interaction between students and their teachers."

ePRT Baghdad North Joins with PAS Baghdad to Train English Teachers

September 17, 2009 -- Twenty teachers of English as a Foreign Language,
six of them women, received five days of instruction in the "Shaping the
Way We Teach English" program in a course sponsored by Baghdad ePRT
North.
