English Language Office
The English Language Office (ELO) supports the mission of the Public Affairs section of the United States Embassy to focus on building mutual understanding between people through its educational, cultural, and informational programs. In support of the mission, the ELO offers professional development and educational exchange programs for English language teachers and students in coordination with Ministries of Education and teachers' organizations throughout the region. The English Language Office is one of eighteen such Offices around the world (coordinated by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs).

Professional Development Training
The University of Arkansas and the Spring International Language Center will host a four-week intensive Professional Development Training Program for English Language Educators from Kirkuk Province to be held on the University of Arkansas campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas in July 5 – August 2, 2014. This program is funded by the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.
