2011 EducationUSA University Fair in Iraq
Around 1,500 students attended the EducationUSA University Fair in Iraq on October 14 and 15 to learn about studying in the United States. At the two-day event in Erbil, students met representatives of 21 U.S. universities, attended informational workshops, and visited the EducationUSA booth. Iraqi students who have scholarships to study abroad identified suitable programs, learned about the admissions requirements from the university representatives, and even submitted applications during the fair. Other students learned about the U.S. higher education system and the admissions requirements for international students. Hundreds of students attended informational sessions on the student visa process, standardized tests such as TOEFL® and GRE®, and how to write an essay for the university application. All of this information will help students start preparing now to study at a U.S. university in the future. Students commented that it was very valuable to talk face to face with university representatives, the Consular Officer, and the EducationUSA Adviser.
